A Prayer to the Warriors of Peace
We are all the children
Who are ruled by fear-
Fear of loneliness,
And the anger that comes from fear,
And the hate that comes from anger.
Please, please don't give up on us.
We are all the teenagers
Who are ruled by fear-
The terrible fear of rejection
And the anger that comes from fear,
And the hate that comes from anger.
Pleae, please don't give up on us.
We are all the adults
Who are ruled by fear-
The bitter fear of failure in whomever's eyes
And the anger that comes from fear,
And the hate that comes from anger.
Please, please do not give up on us.
I am the young woman
Who was once a scared child
And an insecure teen.
But I have seen sunlight and rain,
And I have learned to love the world
Because someone did not give up on me.
