A History of Freedom
The ending song-
Through it I can see the sky
That above him caught his high-flung words:
"Freedom...freedom."
They took many lives.
His blood is the blood that flows through my veins.
His anger is mine at the dawn of battle.
The bells tolls for a world
Where freedom is in chains.
The song plays for you,
And tears shall pave the way.
Even the smallest tender reed
Weeps for the freedom we have lost.
Sacrificed to hate, we have,
And that road marches ever on.
The requiem plays for you.
Your love is not strong enough to bring the dawn.
It is deeper than you, and more long-lasting;
Something I shall never know.
Beauty echoed of in a symphony,
Remniscient of green fields
And hooves upon the moors of Scotland.
But what am I writing?
The eulogy for the lifetime?
The march goes ever on.
Not all the tearful prayers in heaven
Can bring me now to peace.
