10,000 Years
In this moment I have realized an amazing truth.
Will I remember it, in my next life?
No.
But of course, this IS the next life,
In relation to the one before.
And I'll be back here in 10,000 years
Experiencing these things again.
"Now" is just a ripple on an endless sea.
I wonder if that girl will remember
That she's been there before?
No.
But in a way, she will.
She does.
For I am also that girl, 10,000 years from me,
But conscious now of this particular time,
Looking back at a girl 10,000 years ago
And asking if she will remember me
When she is me, 10,000 years from now.
